Former Fulshear High School standout Austin Vargas contributed to his college team, the Nicholls State Colonels, as they secured a 3-2 victory over the Southern Miss Golden Eagles in an NCAA Division I baseball game on Wednesday, March 4, at 6 p.m.
The contest took place at Pete Taylor Park and marked the Colonels’ first meeting with the Golden Eagles for the season.
Vargas pitched three innings, giving up one earned run, with one walk and three strikeouts.
The Colonels will play their next game on Saturday, March 7, at 1:05 p.m. at Chapman Field against the Texas A&M Corpus Christi Islanders.
