Congressman Troy E. Nehls, currently serving Texas’ 22nd district in the U.S. Congress, has shared several updates on social media that reflect his positions on various issues. These posts, dated May 5 and 6, 2025, cover topics ranging from crime and animal testing to education.

On May 5, Nehls posted about a criminal incident involving three individuals: “Three illegal aliens have been arrested for allegedly murdering a man in a fatal home invasion.” He questioned whether Democrats would defend these individuals as well.

Later the same day, he expressed gratitude towards former President Trump for ending certain practices at the National Institutes of Health (NIH): “I’ve been working to end the NIH’s cruel in-house beagle testing for years.” He thanked Trump for ensuring that no more dogs would suffer or die at the federal lab, stating that taxpayer money should not fund such experiments.

On May 6, Nehls celebrated educators with a message recognizing their contributions: “Happy National Teacher Appreciation Day.” As the husband of a lifelong educator, he acknowledged the hard work and dedication of teachers who play a vital role in shaping the future of the country.

Troy Nehls was born in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin in 1968 and now resides in Richmond. He replaced Pete Olson as representative of Texas’ 22nd district in 2021 after graduating with a BA from Liberty University.
