Congressman Troy E. Nehls, who has served as a U.S. Representative since 2021, recently posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing legislative efforts and public safety statistics.
On August 20, 2025, Nehls highlighted the provisions of H.R. 3944 in a post: “H.R. 3944– The Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2026:
—Funds military construction

—Invests in military housing
—Cuts wasteful spending https://t.co/yiZ1wPVwtm“
The following day, August 21, he commented on crime rates in Washington D.C., attributing recent improvements to former President Donald Trump: “President Trump is making our nation’s capital safe again:
Robbery: DOWN
ADW: DOWN
Carjacking: DOWN
Car theft: DOWN
Violent crime: DOWN
Property crime: DOWN
All crimes: DOWN
Why is this so controversial? https://t.co/LtvcT5zQ64“
On August 22, Nehls shared another opinion regarding New York Attorney General Letitia James with the statement: “Another post from Letitia James that didn’t age well. https://t.co/rzJwLtOE6j”

He was re-elected in both the 2022 and 2024 elections with over sixty percent of the vote each time against Jamie Jordan and Marquette Greene-Scott respectively.
