Congressman Troy E. Nehls, who represents Texas’s 22nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on February 11, 2026, highlighting recent economic news and legislative action.

In a tweet from that morning, Nehls commented on national employment figures: “The U.S. economy added 130,000 jobs in the month of January. Unemployment fell to 4.3%. President Trump continues to smash expectations.” (February 11, 2026).

Later that day, Nehls announced new legislation related to university research and national security: “NEW: I just introduced a bill that ensures U.S. universities aren’t compromising our national security by prohibiting them from selling the IP rights of their research to nations that hate us. Troy Nehls has served as the representative for Texas’s 22nd District since replacing Pete Olson in 2021 and has secured re-election victories in both the 2022 and 2024 general elections. In those contests, he defeated Jamie Jordan and Marquette Greene-Scott respectively with over sixty percent of the vote each time. Born in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin in 1968 and currently residing in Richmond at age fifty-five, Nehls first won his seat by defeating Sri Preston Kulkarni in the November 2020 election.
