Congressman Troy E. Nehls has recently highlighted a series of legislative actions via his social media account, focusing on government spending, election integrity, and immigration enforcement.

On August 20, 2025, Nehls posted about H.R. 4–The Rescissions Act of 2025, stating: “H.R. 4–The Rescissions Act of 2025 —Rescinds $9 BILLION in wasteful spending, including wasteful foreign aid programs. —Ends taxpayer funding for left-wing propaganda machines, including NPR and PBS. We’re cutting waste, fraud, and abuse in the Swamp!”

In another post from the same day regarding election legislation, he wrote: “H.R. 22– The SAVE Act: It’s simple: Only American citizens should vote in American elections. That’s why the House passed this bill. The Senate needs to act to protect our nation’s election integrity.”

Addressing immigration policy later that day, Nehls commented on S.5–The Laken Riley Act: “S.5–The Laken Riley Act: Requires ICE to detain illegal aliens who have been arrested for theft-related crimes. Criminal illegal aliens, like Laken Riley’s murderer, are on notice. Thanks to @POTUS for signing this bill into law.”

Troy Nehls has represented Texas’s 22nd congressional district since winning his first term in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2020 by defeating Sri Preston Kulkarni with approximately 51.5% of the vote; he secured re-election victories in both 2022 against Jamie Jordan and in 2024 against Marquette Greene-Scott with over 62% of the vote each time.
