Congressman Troy E. Nehls, currently serving Texas’ 22nd district, shared his thoughts and concerns on recent events through a series of tweets on July 7, 2025.
In one tweet, Nehls expressed relief that no Border Patrol agents were killed in a recent attack. He extended his prayers for the quick recovery of those injured and praised the nation’s Border Patrol agents as heroes. Nehls criticized “the radical Left’s violent rhetoric” and called for its cessation. The full tweet can be viewed here.
Later that day, Nehls commended Petty Officer Scott Ruskan of the U.S. Coast Guard for saving 165 lives during floods in Texas. He referred to Ruskan as an American hero and thanked him for his service to both Texas and the nation. The tweet is available here.
