Congressman Troy E. Nehls, representing Texas’ 22nd district since 2021, has recently shared several updates on legislative actions and political events through his social media platform. On May 8, 2025, Congressman Nehls announced that “Today, the House passed the Gulf of America Act.” He explained that this bill aims to formalize President Trump’s executive order regarding the renaming of the Gulf of America. Nehls confirmed his approval by stating, “I voted YES.”

The following day, on May 9, 2025, Nehls highlighted efforts by President Trump and Secretary Duffy to tackle longstanding challenges with the nation’s air traffic control system. He remarked that “President Trump and Secretary Duffy are addressing a massive problem that previous administrations have ignored: Our nation’s antiquated air traffic control system.” Nehls emphasized the significance of these efforts by describing them as “transformational” and mentioned his role as Chairman of the House.

Later on May 9th, Congressman Nehls commented on an incident involving members of the Democratic Party at an ICE detention center in New Jersey. He criticized their actions by stating “Members of the Democrat Party just stormed an ICE detention center in New Jersey.” Nehls further accused Democrats of prioritizing “illegal aliens” over American safety.
