Congressman Troy E. Nehls, who represents Texas and has served as Chairman of the House Aviation Subcommittee, posted a series of tweets on August 18 and 19, 2025, addressing election integrity, media criticism, and national aviation priorities.

On August 18, Nehls called for stricter measures to secure elections. In his post he stated: “We must do everything we can to protect the integrity of our elections. No more mail-in ballots!”

The following day, Nehls criticized MSNBC’s rebranding efforts by posting: “MSNBC rebrands to MS NOW… You can put lipstick on a pig but it’s still just a pig.” This comment was made on August 19.

Later that same day, recognizing National Aviation Day and his leadership role in Congress, Nehls wrote: “Happy National Aviation Day! As Chairman of the House Aviation Subcommittee, I’m committed to working with @SecDuffy and @FAA_Bryan to modernize our ATC system and the entire national airspace system. Our aviation system will be the envy of the world! “

Nehls has held his seat since first winning election in 2020 against Sri Preston Kulkarni with 51.5% of the vote. He subsequently won reelection in 2022 against Jamie Jordan with a margin of over 62%, and again in 2024 against Marquette Greene-Scott with another victory exceeding 62%.
