Congressman Troy E. Nehls, who has represented his district since winning the 2020 general election, posted a series of statements on social media addressing national symbols, criminal justice policy, and military remembrance.
On August 25, 2025, Nehls commented on recent executive action by the President regarding flag desecration. He wrote: “We should all stand for the American flag. Not burn it. Thank you @POTUS for signing an EO to hold the lunatics who desecrate our flag accountable.”
Later that day, he addressed bail reform and federal funding in relation to public safety measures. Nehls stated: “It’s simple: End cashless bail or lose federal funding. President Trump is restoring law and order!” (August 25, 2025).
On August 26, 2025, Nehls marked the anniversary of a significant event involving U.S. servicemembers in Afghanistan. He posted: “Four years ago today, 13 brave servicemembers lost their lives in the botched Afghanistan withdrawal. May we never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our great nation. God bless each of them and their families.”
Nehls has held his congressional seat since defeating Sri Preston Kulkarni in 2020 with just over half of the vote and subsequently winning reelection against Jamie Jordan in 2022 and Marquette Greene-Scott in 2024 with more than sixty percent of votes each time.
