Congressman Troy E. Nehls, who represents Texas’s 22nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently made several statements on social media addressing issues ranging from law enforcement safety to election integrity and federal funding for schools.
On July 15, 2025, Nehls criticized the Democratic Party’s stance on peace and law enforcement, stating: “The Democrat Party claims it’s the party of peace. I beg to differ. Assaults against our ICE officers are through the roof. Democrats’ reckless rhetoric has encouraged the violence taking place against them. Democrats must stop their dangerous rhetoric NOW.”
Later that day, on July 16, 2025, Nehls addressed the issue of transgender participation in women’s sports and federal funding for educational institutions: “It’s simple: If any state, school, or university chooses to endanger women and allow men to compete in women’s sports, they should lose the privilege of receiving federal funding. Proud to be a cosponsor of @RepAndyBarr’s Defend Girls Athletics Act.”
In another post on July 16, 2025, Nehls praised Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton for investigating alleged voter fraud involving noncitizens: “Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton launched an investigation into more than 100 potential noncitizens who cast over 200 ballots in the 2020 and 2022 elections. Great work! We must do everything we can to protect the integrity of our elections.”
Nehls has served as a member of Congress since replacing Pete Olson in 2021 and currently resides in Richmond. Born in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin in 1968, he is a graduate of Liberty University with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
