Congressman Troy E. Nehls, representing Texas’ 22nd district, recently shared insights on various issues through a series of tweets. Serving in Congress since 2021, Nehls has been vocal about topics ranging from national airspace to international affairs and domestic security.

On May 21, 2025, Nehls tweeted about a meeting with @bscholl where they discussed the integration of new entrants into the national airspace system, such as civil supersonic aviation. He expressed optimism about these developments by stating “The future is bright!”.

Later that day, Nehls criticized NBC News for not covering certain international events. He stated “Fake News NBC doesn’t want to talk about the truth about the horrific atrocities that are happening in South Africa.” and called them “a disgrace.”

In another tweet on May 21, 2025, Nehls highlighted a significant increase in Secret Service applicants under the Trump Administration. He noted that from January 20 to May 1 of 2024 there were 7,000 applicants compared to a spike to 22,000 in the same period in 2025. Nehls attributed this change to revitalization efforts by the administration and directed readers to an article in Newsweek for further information: “Because the Trump Administration is revitalizing the Secret Service.”

Nehls was born in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin in 1968 and currently resides in Richmond. He holds a BA from Liberty University.
