A developer has plans to build a 58-acre shopping center in Richmond.
CJ Development purchased 42.7 acres at Grand Parkway Highway 99 and West Bellfort Street in Richmond and intends to develop it into the Grand Center at Long Meadow Farms.
Aside from opening the shopping center, the company will lease portions of the newly acquired land.
Grand Center will reportedly be home to such businesses as Members Choice Credit Union, Spring Creek BBQ, Pet Suites, Service First, and 7-Eleven.
Richmond, with a population of 12,000, had two areas selected for opportunity zones two years ago: the historic Downtown district and a large tract near the Grand Parkway. The latter was chosen for Grand Center because downtown is focused on preservation.
According to a news release, JLL’s Chris Bergmann Jr. represented the undisclosed seller. CJ Development was represented by Alan Chodrow of Chodrow Realty Advisors. Newquest Properties’ Ashley Strickland and Nick Ramsey are handling leasing and sales for Long Meadow Farms.
