5.5% of citizens unemployed in Fort Bend County in 2021

Fort Bend County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 22,330 people out of the 806,497 living in Fort Bend County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Fort Bend County has decreased compared to the 5.6% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Fort Bend County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 386,624 people who had a job during that time, 157 were employed in the Armed Forces and 386,467 belonged to the civilian labor force.
