HOUSTON – Houston ISD has extended its districtwide closure through April 10.

The Texas Health and Human Services Department reported 64 coronavirus cases as of March 17. Harris County has the most COVID-19 cases with 10.

The Houston Independent School District extended its closure until at least April 10, but will re-evaluate that decision on April 6, district officials posted on the website.

The St. Thomas’ Episcopal School is closed through April 13. Should this date change, officials will immediately notify the church and school community.

The Episcopal school’s latest decision came as school districts nationwide announced extended closings to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

“Please note that no student, faculty member, or staff member at St. Thomas’ Episcopal has had direct exposure to COVID-19,” school officials said.
