Mayor John Whitmire, in a recent speech at the HPD Cadet Class graduation, expressed his gratitude and support for the newest graduates of the Houston Police Department Academy. The cadet class #261, consisting of 76 men and women, has been fully prepared to serve and protect the people of Houston right from the start.
"I stand before you as a friend of the Houston Police Department," stated the Mayor's Office. Mayor Whitmire, attending his first cadet graduation as mayor, expressed his immense pride in being present at this significant event. He acknowledged the cadets' courage and dedication to the city, speaking in front of an audience that included the cadets' loved ones and city council members.
"On behalf of all Houstonians, I stand before you and say thank you. I'm also going to ask you to help us recruit additional officers," Mayor Whitmire urged the cadets.
