Enrollment at Harmony Science Academy decreased by 2.3% compared to previous school year

There were 3,501 students enrolled in Harmony Science Academy in the 2022-23 school year, 2.3% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.9% of them were girls, and 49.1% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 56.4% of the Harmony Science Academy total enrollment.

Harmony Science Academy roughly covers schools within Harris County with its main office in Sugar Land.

Among the six schools in Harmony Science Academy, Harmony School of Ingenuity-Houston recorded the highest enrollment of 749 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
