Enrollment Analysis: Asian students comprised 7% of Houston Classical Charter School District's student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 13 Asian students enrolled in Houston Classical Charter School District in the 2022-23 school year, 85.7% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Houston Classical Charter School District welcomed 185 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Asian students comprised 7% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Houston Classical Charter School District roughly covers schools within Harris County and has a main office in Houston.

Houston Classical was the only school in the district which enrolled Asian students, welcoming 13 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
