On January 28, 2025, Congressman Nehls announced an arrest related to gang activity. He stated: "GREAT NEWS: A Tren de Aragua gang member who was wanted for the apartment takeover in Aurora, CO, was arrested during an ICE raid in NYC." He expressed gratitude towards President Biden with the words "Thank you, @POTUS!" and concluded his message with "Making America Safe Again."
The following day, January 29, 2025, Nehls tweeted support for Robert Kennedy Jr., stating simply: "Confirm @RobertKennedyJr. Make America Healthy Again."
Later on the same day, he commented on border policy changes attributed to former President Trump. In his post he remarked: "The days of the Left’s open-border policies are over. Thank you, President Trump, for taking decisive action to put America first."
