Texas Congressman Troy E. Nehls, representing the 22nd district, has issued a series of statements focusing on economic and electoral issues. Nehls, a supporter of President Trump, provides his perspective on recent developments in job growth, voting rights, and trade policy.
On April 2, 2025, Nehls reported, "The private sector added 155,000 jobs in March, according to ADP. More than economists’ expectations. We continue to win with President Trump in the White House."
Later that day, Nehls addressed concerns over voting rights, stating, "It’s simple: Only American citizens should vote in American elections. Yet, top Democrats, including Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries, filed a lawsuit to block President Trump’s order barring non-citizens from voting in US elections. Tells you everything you need to know."
In discussing trade policies, Nehls tweeted, "President Trump’s reciprocal tariffs make it clear that our country will not be ripped off anymore. We are bringing back American manufacturing and putting America First."
