Later that day, Nehls expressed support for Kash Patel's potential confirmation as FBI director, citing substantial backing from law enforcement personnel. "More than 680,000 law enforcement personnel back Kash Patel as FBI director."

On February 12, Nehls announced Tulsi Gabbard's confirmation as Director of National Intelligence and extended his congratulations. "NEWS: Tulsi Gabbard was just confirmed as Director of National Intelligence."
