Texas Southern University issued the following announcement.
Texas Southern University is a recipient of the BankMobile 2020 ACE Award that recognizes TSU’s commitment to efficiency, security and student service. Texas Southern has received the award for the second year in a row and is one of 178 schools recognized by BankMobile for being an industry leader in processing refunds for students.
Award criteria required that at least 90% of all refunds in 2020 were disbursed electronically and 40% of all students, regardless of financial aid eligibility, completed the refund selection process. TSU exceeded expectations with a 98.02% disbursement rate and a 64.06% preference selection rate. Texas Southern’s partnership with BankMobile began in August 2018 to expedite refunds. Students have an option to select BankMobile as their preferred method to receive refunds.
“We are proud to receive the ACE Award that shows TSU has an efficient, secure method to process student refunds, providing our Tigers with an excellent level of service to have access to their funds in a timely fashion,” said Errol Thomas, director of Student Accounting. “Our goal is to ensure that students and their families have a clear picture of where they stand in order to satisfy their financial obligations to complete their degree and assist with financial planning and literacy.”
