Congressman Troy E. Nehls, who represents Texas's 22nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently made several statements on social media concerning public safety and legislative transparency. These comments were shared through his official account.

On December 10, 2024, Congressman Nehls reported the arrest of a suspected member of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua in North Dakota. He highlighted that "Tren de Aragua now has a presence in 17 states." The Congressman expressed his intention to collaborate with President Trump to enhance border security and community safety.

In another tweet posted on the same day, Nehls provided a link without additional commentary here.

Later that day, Congressman Nehls announced that his proposed legislation, the Amtrak Transparency and Accountability for Passengers and Taxpayers Act, had been passed by the House. He stated that "Sunshine is the best disinfectant." The bill aims to make Amtrak’s Board of Directors meetings accessible to the public to ensure decisions are made in passengers' and taxpayers' best interests.
