Congressman Troy E. Nehls, representing Texas' 22nd district since 2021, has been vocal on social media about various policy issues. On March 10, 2025, he addressed several topics through his Twitter account.

In a tweet posted at 18:29 UTC, Nehls commented on the Trump Administration's repurposing of an app initially developed under President Biden. "The Trump Administration has repurposed Biden’s CBP One app," he stated. He explained that the new version, called the CBP Home app, aims to encourage illegal immigrants to self-deport. He added a message for those in the country illegally: "If you’re in the United States illegally, you are not welcome here."

Later that day at 20:10 UTC, Nehls shared news of a recent immigration enforcement operation in Houston conducted by ICE agents. According to his post, "ICE agents in Houston arrested 646 illegal aliens in a week-long operation," with many having criminal records. He specified that among those arrested were "140 aggravated felons and 34 sex offenders." Nehls praised ICE's efforts by stating "Good work by ICE! Making America Safe Again!"

At 22:35 UTC on the same day, Congressman Nehls announced his initiative against a plan by the Department of Interior (DOI). He wrote that he had led a letter to DOI Secretary Doug Burgum urging him to terminate an agency plan projected to cost $1.35 billion over three decades and result in significant wildlife casualties. Nehls expressed concern over its environmental impact, noting it would lead to "the death of 450,000+ barred owls." He aligned this effort with former President Trump's fiscal policies by asserting that it was time to end what he termed as wasteful spending from the Biden era.
